Next Big Step for Analog Camera Replacement - The New Basler ace acA640-90gm/gc

The Basler ace series is growing again!

(PresseBox) - The latest GigE family members are new mono and color camera models based on the Sony ICX424 sensor that delivers 90 frames per second at VGA resolution. This sensor is a 1/3" Sony CCD sensor with exceptional image quality. Due to the high image quality and a nice fit of optical parameters such as pixel and sensor size, the cameras can be used with cost-effective off-the-shelf lenses. This sensor is widely used in analog cameras and in some FireWire cameras, and it is universally employed in factory floor applications.
Basler's ace series now enables all users of analog and FireWire cameras to switch to GigE as easily as possible. Why is that?
- The ace has the same footprint as most analog and FireWire cameras
- Because the ace uses the C-mount standard, no change of optical setup is required
- The ace has the same mechanical dimensions and mounting options as analog and FireWire cameras (29 mm x 29 mm footprint)
- Much lower costs compared to analog and FireWire cameras
What additional advantages does the Basler ace deliver?
- Higher frame rates of up to 90 fps, about 50% more than comparable analog cameras
- The full advantages of GigE and Power over Ethernet (PoE) with 100MB/s and 100 meter cable lengths
- Future-proof technology with the Gigabit Ethernet interface
Both Basler ace acA640-90 models will be in full production by the middle of June 2011.
