(industrietreff) - Despite Chinese customers'' insatiable hunger for the new Apple smartphone models, iPhone 6s Plus and the otterbox iPhone 6s face challenges, with all the biggest likely from old versions.


A research note demonstrates before the new handsets were released in September, which may encroach the marketplace expansion of new versions, the preceding versions, iPhone 6 Plus and otterbox iPhone 6, experienced leading sales, Xinhua news agency reported.


The two preceding recent versions were the best-selling smartphones till August, based on a report of the UK - Kantar Worldpanel based market research business.


In China, smartphone sales represented 84 percent of entire phone sales in the three-month circle.


The report did not show what''s behind the favour for the last models, but this is a common phenomenon that some Chinese consumers, particularly iPhone buyers, are inclined to choose the variant that is older with favourable costs ahead of new merchandise release.


To date, the new versions have performed well in the Chinese marketplace, the world''s second largest after the US.
